Emperor-fish - Pomacanthidae

Identification marks: Emperor - fish can grow as long as 60 cm. They are different from the butterfly - fish because of their backward-lying gill-covered ray, which is partially coloured and conspicuous and begins by all species below of the front gill-cover.

Way of life: emperor - fish are daily active fish, which mainly exist individually rather than in pairs. The territorial-character of the male saves the feeding. All emperor - fish are at first female and can transform themselves into male species if required. But the transformation is irreversible.

Food: Sponges, partial fish-eggs and algae.
