Scharia

The Scharia is the religious law, to which a Muslim is bound in his will, his mind. It is also the basis of the Muslim political system. The Koran is the guideline to all political activities in a Muslim country.

Based on this connection of political life and religious life all Muslim countries are theocracies, which means that God is the leader of the state.

The Koran with its interpretations and the Sunna (=ideal way of life lived by Muhammad) are listed as a source for all jurisdiction.
